Yolanda Ingley II Band “Woman got to Cry ” Album Launch

Though Yolanda has been a part of the vibrant Melbourne music scene for more than a decade, more recent times have seen her carve out a niche for herself with her original music.

Drawing on her own life and experiences Yolanda began writing music in 2014 referencing her abiding love of southern soul, blues and jazz.

The result saw her independent release of her first album, “This Dangerous Age” in 2016, gaining her a reputation as a fine singer- songwriter and earning her a deserved amount of critical acclaim.
Featuring a stellar line-up of Melbourne finest musicians that album with its collection of poetic songs, mesmerizing lyrics and rich, resonant, vocals, proved to deeply connect with her audience.

“One of those rare albums that when we play it in-store has people coming to the counter, irrespective of the genre they were browsing in, to know what this fantastic album is. It really connects with people in a very soulful way.”

Suzanne Bennett The Basement Discs.

Yolanda and Band are now releasing a much, anticipated second album of original material.

Recorded direct to analogue tape at Half Mile Harvest Studio in January this year the album is produced by SAM TESKEY of The Teskey Brothers. “Woman got to Cry” features Yolanda’s own musicians (principally Monica Weightman on searing lead guitar and backing vocals and Steve Dagg on Saxophone) as well as Teskey Brothers Sam Teskey on guitar and Liam Gough on drums.
